Part 4 - Blue Dragon Water Cooling Build Log

I've been messing about with my fans and radiators, so here is a bit of an update on my progress with wiring, soldering, braiding and a bit of fabrication thrown in for good measure.

I want to daisy chain the radiator fans and fit black braiding. I've searched the forum and decided that the best way to do this is by splicing the fan cables.

With the cables spliced and braided I just wanted to see how they look on the radiator with the Phobya neoprene spacer in place.  You can just see the neoprene spacer between the fan on the right and the radiator.

However, I have a bit of a problem here, when I tighten the fan fixings and compress the neoprene it intrudes into the fan housing slightly and just clips the edges of the fan blades because the underside of the fan and the tips of the fan blades are very close.

I made up some aluminium spacers hoping that the aluminium will stop the neoprene from intruding into the fan housing but this doesn't work. It's back to the drawing board. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be glad to hear them.

Just to make sure my soldering and wiring skills are still up to scratch I rigged up the daisy chained fans to my fan controller and connected it all to an old power supply, cool at least that worked out OK.
